Advances in User Interface Design

In addition to Web 2.0 design styles, there have also been advances in user interface design. These are:

AJAX - is an evolution in Web interface design as it enables information to be processed without reloading the web page. Several new capabilities in webpage design have been bought about because of this. Examples of this are:

Large Tabs

Drag & Drop

AutoComplete

MAPS

WYSIWYG - an acronym for ‘What You See Is What You Get’, used to describe a system in which content displayed during editing appears very similar to the final output, eg. a printed document, web page or slide presentation
